FREE EMF Workshop at the Encinitas Library on February 15, 2020 at 2:00pm

Understanding EMF and RF Testing

The workshop will address the fundamental physics of electromagnetic fields which are important to be able to test EMF and RF field correctly. We will address the different type of fields, such as magnetic and electric and radio frequency radiation. We will identify source, evaluate the testing results and look and elimination and mitigation methods. We will talk about what indoor sources, where we have control, and outdoor sources and its reduction methods.

Special attention will be place on discussing radio frequency (RF) emission, their frequency ranges, common cellular bands, testing methods and shielding methods. We talk about the different methods and the viability of RF measurements. There will address the pros and cons of consumer broadband instrument and professional testing equipment such as spectrum analyzer. We need to understand on how FCC method protocols and what independent consultants do.

We will shed light on what the 5G technology really is and what is marketing hype. What type of testing instruments are out to evaluate 5G emission. We will present case studies and the plethora of shielding methods.

The second part of the workshop will be a hands-on presentation. So, please bring you meters along to perform some testing and compare our results.
